QA & Release Engineer

(12 months fixed term contract- reporting to Product Portfolio & Release Manager)

Are you interested in working for a market leader in a fast-growing industry? Realistic Games are looking for a new QA & Release Engineer to join our expanding team in Reading. We are looking for somebody who wants to make a difference, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and most importantly, wants to help build software quickly yet to the highest possible quality.


Overall Responsibility:

Working as part of the QA team with the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Quality Assurance for all games and related products
  • Responsible for testing all games according to the requirements on various browsers and devices
  • Ensuring all game products are released and rolled out to Production ensuring adequate testing, using various software techniques to meet the product requirements
  • Working effectively with an autonomous structure – taking accountability for your own area, but also supporting others with theirs when necessary 
  • Documenting your work, allowing others to benefit from your contributions
  • Continuously learning new approaches to testing and quality assurances, developing great content and providing a superior output 


Required Skills and Experience:

The potential candidate must have at least 1-3 years’ experience within a QA Engineer role for a software development team/company.  

The following skills and experience are required:

  • Experience using web-based applications on Desktop, Mobile and Tablet devices 
  • Experience reviewing initial requirements, documents, technical specification, User Stories and clearly understanding the product's features
  • Adept at providing QA estimates to the QA Manager, Development team and writing test reports
  • Experience in using Jira or any other project management/defect management tools
  • Solid background in software testing; with an emphasis on Automation
  • Excellent logic and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Commercial experience with an automated testing tool
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Preferably experienced in gaming industry products

Realistic Games - Reading Office, 8th Floor North, Reading Bridge House, Reading Bridge, George Street, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 8LS.


Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30 (except Bank Holidays)
